Four Extraordinary Qualities
Art has always been my passion, and it ran in my family. As far as I can remember, I had my art displayed at the top of the world Elementary School in Laguna Beach. I was thrilled and happy to receive an award at the age of six. That’s when I truly realized I had a talent and wanted to pursue art.
From time to time, I engaged in art activities like drawing and painting. However, I didn’t do it as much as I wanted because I was in school full-time. I also watched my grandma draw and paint incredible things. Sometimes, I would draw with her when she came over. That’s one of the main reasons that motivated me to continue pursuing my art. I was constantly amazed by her award-winning paintings and the process of creating them.
It wasn’t until fifth grade that I truly started getting into art and being able to do it more frequently. It was the last year of elementary school, and during my free time, I would watch drawing tutorials and learn how to draw and paint various subjects. I would often draw places and animals.
During COVID, I started paying even more attention to art because the schools were shut down and we couldn’t go anywhere fun. With all the free time, I got a sketchbook and started drawing and painting. I mainly drew places like airports or cityscapes. I also painted mainly flowers, but sometimes nature or coastal-related art. I had even managed to use my entire sketchbook by the end of 2020. I was heavily into creating artwork and had done it on a regular basis.
From all that learning and developing skills, I started painting scenes like landscapes, floral, animals, and cityscapes. In early 2022, I began to venture out of my comfort zone and started creating acrylic watercolor paintings of landscapes, flowers, animals, cityscapes, and capturing scenery.
In my early sophomore year, I had taken a fundamental of oil painting class at a charter school. It had a substantial impact on my art, and it put me in a whole new perspective of art. It was mostly focused on creating realistic art scenes. Abbreviating them and looking at the color value. Also, how to mix and blend the color towards the painting. It had taught me a whole wide variety on oil painting and the fundamentals on it. I’d remember at one I drew this realistic decorative bottle and one teacher walks by and was “who drew this” and my art teacher implies Roger created it. That is when I knew that my art would keep improving each time I paint. I can recall a time towards the end of the year; I walked out with knowing how to create realistic coastal and naturistic art. In fact, I walked out of there creating a stunning detailed sunflower painting at the 16.
My junior year, I had enrolled in a semester in an art class the fundamentals of painting and drawing. I started to paint still life paintings and that’s when I truly felt like I was getting the hang of painting realistically and getting the basic concepts of oil & acrylic painting real life. With all that knowledge, I started painting landmarks and place. My first painting I did was a coastal painting of the beach Laguna. My whole family was impressed by it and was like you are getting so good. I said it was all thanks to my recent art classes I took the past year. If it wasn’t for all the major art classes, I enrolled in I wouldn’t be where I am today with a whole new knowledge and outlook on painting and how to simply a real-life painting. Being able to paint custom landmarks, still life, floral, and coastal.
As of now, I currently specialize in creating custom paintings inside my home. I currently specialize in painting local landmarks, coastal art, custom paintings of people’s home, floral life, and sometimes still life. I am determined and believe that my art will help brighten and enlightened people’s days and space in their homes. Also, that my earning from each of my painting I sell contributes to charities throughout Orange County. Currently my art is at Cock & tail home a storefront in Laguna Beach and at the Tennis club in Newport Beach.
